Sliman’s Thoughts

"It’s good to see the competitiveness amongst our whole group this week. No doubt Baton Rouge can be a hard place to play, especially a part of the feature group the whole tournament. For the first time this fall we played without any hesitation and we came out hot for our first round, which is something we haven’t be able to do till now. The only caveat is that college golf is three rounds, and we didn’t finish the way that we are capable of. We need to erase the poor golf and mental mistakes from our game. I have a lot of confidence that this competitive group can achieve great things, however the definition of great is the difference between our best and our worst. Our mindset going forward needs to be to steadily improve our weaknesses in order to achieve great things."

Three Cajuns Finish In Top 10

Senior Triston Elston picked up his second career top 10 finish at the David Toms Intercollegiate placing in eighth at even par (216). Elston was one of three Louisiana players to post a round under par at the tournament with a 71 (-1) in the second round.

Sophomore Peter Hinnant and junior Micah Goulas also finished in the top 10 as Hinnant came in ninth at 1-over (217), while Goulas placed in a tie for tenth at 3-over (219). Goulas notched a 69 (-3) in his second round with five birdies.
