The Luling, La. native shaved three strokes off of his score to shoot a two-over par round of 73 in the second round. Noto once again finished strong, birdying the final hole to make the cut and advance to match play.
“I am extremely proud of Andrew for advancing to match play, but proud of Kyle and Thomas, as well,” head coach Theo Sliman remarked. “Andrew finished strong, which is something we have worked on that throughout the year as a team. He fought off a lot of adversity and I couldn’t be prouder.
“Kyle and Thomas both missed the cut by just two strokes, but no matter what happens with Andrew in the match play, the experience at this level of competition that all these guys have earned is invaluable and will help them throughout the rest of their collegiate careers here at UL.”
Petts was consistent throughout the tournament. The Canadian opened the tournament with a 75 (�4), and finished the second round with a 76 (�5) to finish the tournament with a score of 151.
Pritchard started rough, opening the tournament with a first round score of 78 (�7). The All-Sun Belt golfer shaved five strokes off of his score as he shot a second round score of 73 (�2) to tie Petts with a 151.
The winner of the US Amateur Public Links will earn an automatic spot in The Masters in Augusta, Ga.
