Frederick Louis Chaplain, Sr. – Football 1925, Military Veteran – August 15, 1994

Frederick Louis Chaplain Sr. ,a retired pharmaceutical representative for Wyeth Laboratories, died Tuesday at his home of cancer. He was 70. Mr. Chaplain was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. He was a graduate of St. Aloysius High School and Southwestern Louisiana Institute, now University of Southwestern Louisiana. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Martha Bardwell Chaplain ; four sons, Frederick Jr., Daniel, Patrick and David Chaplain ; four daughters, Margaret Fontenot, Victoria Love, Peggy Dunn and Linda Jones; two brothers, Leon Jr. and George Chaplain ; a sister, Barbara O’Sullivan; and 18 grandchildren. A graveside service will be held today at 2 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery. McMahon-Coburn-Briede Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. (New Orleans Times-Picayune, Aug. 18, 1994)
