Forty-One Student-Athletes Earn Degrees In Spring Commencement Ceremonies

LAFAYETTE – A total of 41 Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns student-athletes were awarded their college degree on Friday as the University held its spring commencement ceremonies at the Cajundome.
 
The 41 graduates represented 14 of the Ragin’ Cajuns 16 Division I programs with women’s soccer player Lindsey Brammer (Speech Pathology) and women’s track and field athlete Claire Hodges (Petroleum Engineering) each graduating summa cum laude.
 
Eight student-athletes – Jessica Bartczyszyn (volleyball), Josh Cecil (men’s track), Greg Davis (baseball), Carly Jo Ellender (soccer), Haley Hayden (softball), Natalie Lebamoff (soccer), Yazmin Montoya (soccer), and Kassidy Zeringue (softball) – graduating magna cum laude.
 
Eight members of the Ragin’ Cajuns football team were awarded degrees, including Trey Granier who earned his Master’s degree in Business Administration.
 
Seven members of the Ragin’ Cajuns softball team, including three-time All-American Lexie Elkins, received degrees. The Ragin’ Cajuns track and field program had a combined 13 members earn their degree with five members of the women’s soccer team and three from the volleyball team.
