The 6-foot-1, 277-pound product, finished third overall in the league in sacks and earned first-team All-Sun Belt Conference honors and was voted as the Louisiana Sports Writers Defensive Player of the Year. Ringo, who started all 13 games for the Ragin’ Cajuns, set the single-season record in sacks and tied the career record (21.0) in final minute of Louisiana’s 16-3 win over Nevada in the RL Carriers New Orleans Bowl. He set a single-game record with 5.5 tackles for loss in a win at ULM and returned a fumble recovery 41 yards for a touchdown in a nationally-televised victory at Texas State.
