Former Football: Ex-UL star Harris makes Packers squadStaff Reports, The Advertiser, September 5, 2015
Former UL running back Alonzo Harris, the third-leading rusher in Ragin’ Cajuns history, won a three-horse race for the Green Bay Packers’ third running back, surviving the team’s cut to 53 as announced Saturday. Harris will start the season behind Eddie Lacy and James Starks, while John Crockett and Raijon Neal were released. The news wasn’t as good for former Cajun defensive tackle Christian Ringo, who the Packers drafted in the sixth round. Ringo was the only Green Bay player in this year’s draft that was cut by the Packers. Former UL linebacker Justin Anderson was released by the New Orleans Saints on Saturday.
