Former UL receiver and return man Darryl Surgent was added today to the practice squad of the CFL’s Toronto Argonauts.

Surgent, an undrafted Ragin’ Cajuns senior last season, was waived last month from the practice squad of the NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs.

The Alexandria Senior High product left UL as its No. 1 all-time kick returner and No. 10 all-time receiver.

Former Cajuns currently with CFL teams include slotback Fred Stamps (Edmonton Eskimos; active roster), offensive lineman D’Anthony Batiste (Edmonton; active roster), and linebacker Kyries Hebert (Montreal Alouettes; one-game injured list).
