Former Baseball: Ex-Cajuns tapped for Midwest League All-Star Classic

Tim Buckley, The Advertiser, June 4, 2015

Former UL second baseman Jace Conrad and ex-Ragin’ Cajuns outfielder Caleb Adams have been picked to start in the June 23 Class A Midwest League All-Star Classic.

The two – both members of UL’s 58-10 Super Regional team in 2014 – will play on opposite sides in the All-Star game in Peoria, Illinois.

Conrad, playing for the Tampa Bay Rays-affiliated Bowling Green Hot Rods, was hitting .293 with 25 RBI, 16 steals and a league high-tying nine homers before Thursday’s games.

The Lafayette High product was a New York-Penn League All-Star last summer.

Adams is hitting .311 with 20 RBI for the Burlington Bees, a Los Angeles Angels affiliate.

He is a teammate in Burlington with ex-Cajuns pitcher Austin Robichaux, who went 6.0 innings with three runs allowed to get the win and improve to 4-2 in an outing Wednesday night.
