Last season, Lucroy posted a .320 average and produced 12 home runs and 58 RBI in 96 games of an injury shortened season (hand injury in May). When he returned from injury in late July, he batted .299 (53-177, 7hr, 28rbi) and helped the Brewers make a last season push for the playoffs (record rose from 44-54 to 83-79).

Lucroy will step away from Brewers spring training at Maryvale Baseball Park in Phoenix, Ariz., in early March to play in the Classic. The United State’s first round action in the 2013 edition of the World Baseball Classic is set for March 9-10 at Chase Field in Phoenix.

In just three seasons with the Ragin’ Cajuns, Lucroy ranked in the Top 5 in eight career categories. He was a Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American in his rookie campaign in 2005 and a two-time All-Sun Belt Conference selection (2005, 2007).

Lucroy ended his UL career fourth on the batting average list with a .356 clip and second all-time with 241 base hits.  He also finished first in career doubles (54) and third in career homeruns (35).  He still ranks as the Cajuns’ career RBI leader (184) and  total bases (414).
