MANDEVILLE – Chris Yandle, a 2004 University of Louisiana alumnus and father of two, is hosting an upcoming signing event in Lafayette to promote his new book, Lucky Enough: A Year of a Dad’s Encouraging Notes and Life Lessons to His Daughter.

Yandle’s first Lafayette book signing event will be held Saturday, April 27 from 2-4 p.m. at Barnes & Noble on Johnston St. Additional book signing events are also scheduled for Saturday, May 18, at Barnes & Noble in Metairie and Saturday, June 15, at Barnes & Noble in Mandeville.

Considered a wholesome recipe for raising healthy and stable kids, the genesis for Yandle’s book comes from his daughter, Addison. Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, his book is a fantastic opportunity for parents and children to form everlasting bonds over the course of an everyday routine. In his book, Yandle provides other helpful materials, guiding questions, and writing prompts for growing children and involved parents to foster a healthy and resilient family dynamic.

“When my daughter started fourth grade, it was her fourth school in five years. It wasn’t how we planned, but as someone who moved around a lot as a kid, I knew this particular school year was going to be difficult. Every morning, I wrote my daughter a note about life, school, or growing up, and then I’d slip it inside her lunchbox or in her book bag.

“I’d share the notes on my Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts using the hashtag, #DadLunchNotes,” Yandle said. “Before I knew it, the notes became something others were seeking each day, including Addison’s teacher and principal. While I knew others were enjoying the daily lessons I penned in Sharpie, I wanted to stay true to my intended purpose–being a good dad for my daughter.”

Copies of Lucky Enough are currently available at Barnes & Noble locations in Mandeville, Metairie, and Lafayette. You can also order the book online through Barnes & Noble, Amazon, Apple iTunes, and Google Play.
