Football: UL gets 5 votes in USA Today Top 25 coaches pollTim Buckley, Daily Advertiser, November 3, 2013 Leslie Westbrook, The Advertiser
After beating New Mexico State 49-35 on Saturday for its sixth straight win, UL (6-2) received five votes in this week’s USA Today Top 25 coaches poll — the most it’s received this season, and 34th-most nationally. The Ragin’ Cajuns also received one vote two weeks ago, but they did not get any last week. The Cajuns were 103 votes shy of the nation’s No. 25 team according to the coaches, Notre Dame. Among others receiving votes in the USA Today, they got more than Ball State (four), Ole Miss (three), Oregon State (two), Arizona (one) and USC (one). UL received no votes, however, in this week’s AP Top 25 writers’ poll. Thirty-five teams received AP votes. Alabama remains No. 1 in both polls. LSU is No. 10 in the AP poll, No. 12 in the USA Today poll.
