Football: UL football puts five players on All-Sun Belt preseason team

NEW ORLEANS – UL is ranked No. 3 in the Sun Belt Conference preseason football poll, as voted on by the league’s 10 head coaches.

The poll, released today, has Florida International No. 1 and defending Sun Belt champion Arkansas State No. 2.

Western Kentucky is No. 4, followed in order by Troy, UL Monroe, Middle Tennessee, North Texas, Florida Atlantic and South Alabama.

The Ragin’ Cajuns placed five players on the All-Sun Belt Preseason Team, also released today: receiver Javone Lawson, offensive lineman Leonardo Bates, running back Alonzo Harris, defensive back Melvin White and kicker Brett Baer.

Arkansas State’s Ryan Aplin is the conference’s preseason team quarterback.
