Football; Stringer named Scout.com Sun Belt Recruiter of the Year

LAFAYETTE, La. – Ragin’ Cajuns associate head coach and recruiting coordinator Reed Stringer has been named the Scout/FOXSportsNext Sun Belt Football Recruiter of the Year, Scout.com announced on Thursday.

Louisiana announced a 22-member signing class on Feb. 6, 2013 that Scout.com ranked 76th in the nation and tops in the Sun Belt Conference. The Cajuns are 14 spots in front of the second ranked Sun Belt recruiting class.

UL signed nine three-star prospects (according to Scout.com), more than double any other school in the conference, including a top 40 safety in Simeon Thomas out of Miami, Fla. and a top 50 middle linebacker in George Williams, also out of Florida.

Since joining the Ragin’ Cajuns football staff in January 2011, Stringer has been instrumental in the Cajuns two bowl victories, and has helped two bring in three talented recruiting classes.
