Football Parking: UL Expands Donor Parking For 2012 Football SeasonJuly 14, 2012 For Immediate Release UL Expands Donor Parking For 2012 Football Season LAFAYETTE, La. — Growing excitement for the upcoming Ragin’ Cajuns football season has resulted in an increased demand for reserved parking this fall at Cajun Field. Beginning this season, the entire west side parking lot, including the gravel section, will be reserved for those 2012 RCAF Annual Fund contributors at the “Coaches’ Staff” level ($250) or higher. The attached map details RCAF lots A-D. “In recent discussions with the RCAF Board of Directors, it was determined that this was a necessary step in both stewarding our donors and advancing our program financially,” UL Director of Athletics, Scott Farmer said. “As the number of donors supporting our program increases, it is important to reward them with the best seating and parking opportunities possible. Increased demand for reserved parking is a good problem to have. I foresee a day in the not so distant future when all parking at Cajun Field will be reserved for RCAF donors.” Anyone interested in parking in these areas can donate to the RCAF Annual fund by contributing online at RCAF4UL.com or in person at the Cox Communications Athletic Center. “The success of the 2011 New Orleans Bowl Champion football team has greatly increased the demand for reserved parking inside the Cajun Field area”, RCAF President, John Bordelon said. “The Athletic Department is not far from completely filling all parking at Cajun Field with RCAF donors. The funds generated from the reserved parking will help boost our athletic programs to the national level. As we work to enhance our overall operations and we begin putting into motion the soon to be completed Athletics Master Facilities Plan, fan support of the RCAF will be the driving factor to improved athletic performance.” General parking will still be available in the North Lot, at the Cajundome, Blackham Coliseum and the lot behind the Hilton Garden Inn. In addition to priority parking for football, RCAF Annual Fun donors also receive priority seating for the bowl games along with priority parking for basketball games at the Cajundome. Brian McCann
