Football: New Enhancements Announced for Ragin’ Cajuns Game Day Experience

LAFAYETTE – Louisiana Athletics has unveiled enhancements to the Cajun Field fan experience for the 2018 season. Fans will notice several new additions inside the stadium, all designed to bring excitement and enhanced hospitality for the debut season of the Billy Napier Era.
 
All upgrades will be in place leading into Louisiana’s season opener against Grambling on Saturday, Sept. 1.
 
LAFAYETTE ROOFING FAMILY FUN ZONE
The Lafayette Roofing Family Fun Zone is geared toward children and family entertainment in the north end zone. Activities include:

  • State-of-the-art, 40-foot long video game trailer
  • Quarterback Toss
  • Player Cutouts
  • Balloon Art
  • KONA Ice

 
OUR LADY OF LOURDES FAMILY TAILGATE ZONE
An expansion of the Cox Kids Zone at Russo Park providing fun activities for children inside the stadium, this interactive area is set to include; a live DJ, games across the country on the videoboard, life-size characters, face painting, and concessions. Fans will also have the ability see Cajun Walk as it proceeds past the tailgate area.
 
CABANAS
Shaded canopies, located atop the east concourse between Sections P, Q and R, will offer fans a chance to "cool off" and remain in view of the game action. Each cabana will be equipped with Cool Zone fans. Concession kiosks will be located nearby.
 
GRADUATE SPORTS BAR
Geared toward the Louisiana student and recent graduate population, this dining and hospitality area located near Gate E on the east concourse will include food and beverage. The Graduate Sports Bar will also be open to the public, and also feature phone charging stations. Live DJs will be present for every game. Fan-friendly discounted prices will be available to university students and the general public. Adjacent to the sports bar will be a second 40-foot long video game trailer
 
MUSIC UNDER THE OAK
The fun continues "Under The Oak" as the 2018 schedule for tailgating bands has been finalized:
         Sept. 1: Lil Nate & The Zydeco Big Timers
         Sept. 22: Clay Cormier & The Highway Men
         Oct. 13: Three Three Seven
         Oct. 27: Bayou Boys
         Nov. 10: Nik L Beer
         Nov. 17: Strange Theories
 
Game action will be broadcast on widescreen televisions and music provided by both local and nationally-touring DJs. A limited run of free t-shirts will be distributed at each game.
 
Access to these new amenities begins when gates open to the public and students (1.5 hours prior to kickoff).
 
With six Saturday home games, there will be nonstop action at Cajun Field this fall. Fans can purchase tickets through the Louisiana Athletics Ticket Office at the Cajundome, by either visiting the office in person or by calling (337) 265-2357. Fans who cannot make it to the Cajundome can get their tickets online by visiting RaginCajuns.com/Tickets.
