LAFAYETTE, La. – Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns Football head coach Billy Napier unveiled his first recruiting class on Wednesday, announcing that 16 individuals have signed a National Letter-of-Intent and will join the program for the 2018 season.
 
Napier’s initial class is highlighted by nine products on the defensive side, a trio of offensive linemen and the program’s third Australian punter since 2013. A total of 10 of Louisiana’s signees hail from the Louisiana-Mississippi-Texas area.
 
The Ragin’ Cajuns landed a former Power 5 standout in Ole Miss’ Garrald McDowell, a Mississippi Mr. Football selection (Chris Smith, RB, Louisville, Miss.) and a Lafayette native (Kendall Johnson, Jr.) who will complete his collegiate career in his hometown.
