Football: Hall Davis to Play in All-Star Bowl – Former All-Star Bowl Cajuns Listed & NFL Team IncludFootball: Hall Davis to Play in All-Star Bowl – Former All-Star Bowl Cajuns Listed & NFL Team Includ Football: Hall Davis to Play in All-Star Bowl – Former All-Star Bowl Cajuns Listed & NFL Team Includ Louisiana defensive end Hall Davis has accepted an invitation to participate in the 4th Annual Texas vs. the Nation all-star bowl scheduled for February 6, 2010 (1pm MST) at Sun Bowl Stadium in El Paso, Texas. The game will be nationally televised again this year by CBS College Sports.
In 2009, attendance for the game almost doubled with more than 40,000 fans in attendance. Over 150 NFL scouts and GM’s attend during the week of the game. Of the 116 players that were on last year’s roster, 111 signed an NFL contract (93%). Thanks to a partnership with the Pro Football Hall of Fame, the all-star bowl game has a unique opportunity to offer the winning team a ring which will have the HOF logo on it. Davis becomes the eleventh Cajuns player to be invited to a post-season bowl game under head coach Rickey Bustle. Eight of the previous 10 players to be invited to bowl games have either been drafted or signed NFL free agent contracts. "This is a great opportunity for Hall," said Bustle. "I believe there are only three all-star games being played this year, so getting such an early invitation says a lot." Scouts have flocked to Cajuns practices to see the six-foot-five, 272-pound senior from Port Allen. Davis had 3.5 sacks in 2008 and currently leads the team with 2.0 sacks.
