Former Cajuns running back Tyrell Fenroy was named the Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Decade by CBSSports.com

CBSSports.com released its’ Sun Belt Conference All-Decade team on Tuesday, as voted on by the writers and staff at CBSSports.com. Louisiana had four players on the team, including the Offensive Player of the Decade.

Tyrell Fenroy was named the offensive player of the decade after rushing for a conference record 4,646 yards with 48 touchdowns. He was named first-team All-Sun Belt three times and second team once, while winning conference freshman of the year in 2005 and player of the year in 2008.

Fenroy became just the seventh player in NCAA history to have four consecutive 1,000-yard rushing seasons. As a senior, he ran for a career-best 1,375 yards and 19 touchdowns.

"I feel fortunate to have been around a special young man like him both on and off the field," Ragin’ Cajuns head coach Rickey Bustle said. "Those types of student-athletes don’t come through a program very often. His work ethic and talent put him ahead of many athletes. He had the mentality that he could succeed no matter what."

Joining Fenroy on the all-decade team are wide receiver Fred Stamps, offensive lineman Brandon Cox and Chicago Bears standout Charles Tillman.

Stamps finished his career second on the Cajuns all-time list in receptions and receiving yards, while placing third all-time in receiving touchdowns.  He was a first-team All-Sun Belt selection in 2002 and 2003.

Cox started every game of his Cajuns career, a school record 46 straight games.  He was a first-team All-Sun Belt selection in 2005 and 2006.

Tillman, the highest drafted NFL player in school history (second round, 35th overall), ranks second in school history in tackles by a defensive back.  He was a first team All-Sun Belt pick in 2001 and 2002.
