The announcement was made by Louisiana Ticket Manager Matt Casbon on Thursday. Last year, Ragin’ Cajuns fans purchased 18,862 tickets through the university, allowing the bowl to set its single game attendance mark at 42,841, With a strong presale from both East Carolina and Louisiana, the bowl attendance record could fall again this year. “I am delighted to announced that with the help of our fans, we have sold over 20,000 tickets for the New Orleans Bowl,” Casbon said. “We still have some orders being processed and our fans have time left to purchase tickets so that number will still climb, but the support we have received from the RCAF members and our season ticket holders has been tremendous.” “We couldn’t be more excited that the Ragin’ Cajun nation has reached the 20,000 ticket mark. They brought a great crowd full of enthusiasm and pride down to New Orleans last year, and we’re looking forward to seeing our city bustling with excitement leading up to this year’s game,” New Orleans Bowl Executive Director Billy Ferrante said. The response by Cajun fans has caused the bowl to alter its normal seating plans, opening up the Terrace Level in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome for the first time. (Note: Check out the Superdome interactive seating chart & see what the view is like from the Terrace Level seats:) “Our demand has been so high that they had to give us the Terrace Level to use, otherwise, we wouldn’t have been able to fill all of our orders,” Casbon added. Cajun fans have until 6:00 p.m. on Monday (Dec. 17) to purchase tickets through the ticket office at the Cajundome Box Office. The box ofice is open Monday-Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. or by calling 337-265-2170.
