Broadway Named SBC Offensive Player of the Week
Sophomore Accounts For 460 Yards Of Total Offense In Cajuns 40-24 Win At ULM Last Week

NEW ORLEANS, La. — After setting a career high with 460 yards and five touchdowns in Saturday’s 40-24 win at ULM, Louisiana sophomore quarterback Terrance Broadway has been named the Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week.

The weekly awards, which are determined in a balloting of select media around the conference, were announced by the league office on Monday.

“I thought Terrance was outstanding as a performer and as a leader against ULM,” Ragin’ Cajuns head coach Mark Hudspeth said.  “He took a lot of heat for the last two losses but he stood in there, accepted responsibility and led us to victory.

“Terrance has played well this year, but Saturday’s game was his coming out party.  He was phenomenal.”

Broadway completed 23-of-32 passes for 373 yards and a career-high four touchdowns against the Warhawks.  He also rushed 13 times for 87 yards and a touchdown.

More importantly, Broadway led Louisiana on six scoring drives of 75 yards or more, helping the Cajuns to dominate the time of possession, 40:35-19:25.

Broadway engineered a monstrous 17-play, 99-yard drive that consumed 9:33 and ended with Jacob Maxwell catching a one-yard touchdown pass to give the Cajuns a 34-17 lead, effectively, putting the game away.

For the season, Broadway has completed 122 of 189 passes for 1,624 yards and 12 touchdowns, allowing him to rank fourth in the league with a 151.3 passing efficiency.

Louisiana (5-3) steps out of conference play for the final time this week, playing at No. 6 Florida on Saturday, Nov. 10 beginning at 11:21 CST on the SEC Network.
