Field Dedication Ceremony Planned for Ragin’ Cajuns Women’s Soccer Home Opener

FIELD DEDICATION CEREMONY PLANNED FOR RAGIN’ CAJUNS WOMEN’S SOCCER HOME OPENER

Matt Hebert, Sports Information –

LAFAYETTE – Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns women’s soccer team will hold its first match at its new home facility – the newly renovated Cajuns Track/Soccer Facility – on Sunday, Aug. 28 in a 1 p.m. match against Tulsa.

The University has scheduled a field dedication ceremony for 12:45 p.m.

Louisiana-Lafayette President Dr. Ray P. Authement and Interim Athletics Director David Walker will be present to welcome the Ragin’ Cajuns women’s soccer team to their new home.

Ragin’ Cajuns fans of all ages are invited to be a part of an historic moment in the development of the women’s soccer program.

The opening of the Cajuns Track/Soccer Facility gives the women’s soccer team its first permanent playing facility in program history – one without any schedule conflicts. Prior to the 2005 season, the Cajuns played home matches at Moore Park in nearby Carencro (2000-01) and Cajun Field (2002-04).

The Cajuns Track/Soccer Facility is located in the Ragin’ Cajuns Athletics Complex adjacent to M.L. “Tigue" Moore Field (directly behind the right field fence) on Reinhardt Drive.
