NEW ORLEANS – After an impressive showing last week at 41st annual Justin Cooper Rice Invitational, the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns men’s cross country team entered the South Central Region Poll at No. 15 as the first regular-season USTFCCCA NCAA Division I Regional Cross Country Rankings were released on Monday.

The Ragin’ Cajuns, who were one of four Sun Belt Conference schools in the regional rankings, finished sixth overall in their second event of the season. Louisiana was joined in the South Central rankings by UT Arlington (No. 4) and Texas State (No. 8) with Appalachian State ranked 12th in the Southeast Region.

Newcomer Stanley Limoh and junior Beau Robinson earned a 1-2 finish in the 6-kilometer event. Limoh posted a time of 18:46.16 to win the men’s event with Robinson clocking a time of 18:47.54 to finish second.

The regional ranking marked the second straight year Louisiana was listed after the Ragin’ Cajuns climbed as high as No. 13 last season.

Louisiana returns to action on Saturday when it travels to Baton Rouge to compete in the LSU Invitational at Highland Road Park. The women’s race will begin at 7:30 a.m. with the men’s race scheduled to start at 8:10 a.m.
