Fans feel good to be at Blackham.

Marcus Constantine was young, but he remembers when Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns played basketball in Blackham Coliseum.
"I was real young, in elementary school," Constantine said. "I recall Karl Malone of Louisiana Tech coming in here and playing. It brings back a lot of memories."

UL played a regular season game in Blackham for the first time in 20 years Saturday night, falling to Charlotte by a 67-62 score before 3,209 fans in a game moved from the Cajundome while that facility repairs damage from Hurricane Rita.

"To me, it feels more like a basketball atmosphere," said Constantine, who was a trainer for UL basketball in the 1990s. "The Dome is nice, but it’s so huge."
Many of the fans at Saturday’s game felt as longtime supporter Hardy Edmiston did.

"It’s nostalgic," Edmiston said. "This feels good being here."
