A combined shutout pitching effort from Nick Zaunbrecher and Matt Plitt and solo homers from Ryan Leonards and Seth Harrison were enough for the White team to take a 2-0 win over the Red team Tuesday afternoon in game two of UL baseball’s Fall World Series at M. L. “Tigue” Moore Field.

The White team, which took an 8-3 win in Monday’s fall series opener, has an insurmountable 2-0 lead in the three-game series which concludes with a final game at 3 p.m. today. The game was moved up from an original 6 p.m. start time because of the threat of weather tonight.

Zaunbrecher allowed only two hits through three and one-third innings before giving way to Plitt, who checked the Red team on one hit the rest of the way in the seven-inning game.

Leonards had a one-out solo homer in the top of the first inning off Red team starter Ryan Wilson to put the White team up 1-0. Harrison added his solo shot in the fifth for the only other run in the pitching-dominated game, with the two teams combining for only seven hits.
