UL infielder Greg Davis was one of eight players named national Louisville Slugger Players of the Week by Collegiate Baseball newspaper on Monday.

Davis, usually a reserve who plays mostly at first base and sometimes at third base, was 6-for-8 at the plate with one double, a grand slam, four runs scored and eight RBIs in two games as the No. 3-ranked Ragin’ Cajuns swept a three-game Sun Belt Conference series last weekend at South Alabama.

Davis, however, did not win Sun Belt Player of the Week honors Monday.

That award went to Texas-Arlington outfielder Ryan Bottger, who was 5-for-8 with two homers, four runs scored and six RBIs in a thee-game sweep of Western Kentucky.
