Baseball: Trosclair Tabbed Sun Belt Player of the Week
NEW ORLEANS, La. – After receiving LSWA Hitter of the Week honors a day ago, junior infielder Stefan Trosclair became the second Ragin’ Cajuns baseball player to earn Sun Belt Player of the Week honors this season, the league office announced on Tuesday. "Again this is a great honor for Stefan and for our team," head coach Tony Robichaux said. "He worked really hard to come back from injury and had to do a lot of that work while he waited for his chance. Now the game is paying him back for that hard work and effort." Trosclair came alive for the Cajuns hitting .471 (8-for-17) with four doubles, scored twice and have five RBI. The junior slugged .706 with a .609 on base percentage during the week while drawing four walks and was hit by a pitch twice. Trosclair raised his average from .269 to .319 after the week and doubled his doubles and RBI total. A native of Sulphur, La., Trosclair started the week for the Cajuns by delivering a game-winning RBI double at McNeese State in the 11th inning. Trosclair also scored the game-winning run in the second game of the Arkansas State series before coming through with a clutch 2-run double in the series finale against the Red Wolves to claim the series. Trosclair went 5-for-9 (.556) with two doubles, three RBI, two walks and was hit by a pitch twice against Arkansas State.
