Baseball: Trosclair Adds To Postseason Honors With D1Baseball All-America Selection
LAFAYETTE, La. – Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns baseball junior second baseman Stefan Trosclair added to his list of honors for the 2015 season as he was named to the D1Baseball All-America third team, D1Baseball announced on Thursday. "I’m both proud and honored for Stefan to recognized for his accomplishments," head coach Tony Robichaux said. "To be selected as one of the best players in the country at your position speaks to the kind of season that he had. This honor is great not only for him, but also for our team to earn this kind of recognition. Baseball is a sport that pays you back, and he is certainly getting paid back for the hard work and effort he had to put in." Trosclair is the only member Sun Belt Conference and one of 12 mid-major selections on the 45-man list. A Collegiate Baseball Third Team All-American, Trosclair finished second on the squad in hitting and had a team-high 16 home runs and 53 RBI. Trosclair was named the Sun Belt Tournament Most Outstanding Player after recording all five RBI in the championship game including a grand slam in the 12th inning to propel the Cajuns into the NCAA Tournament. A native of Sulphur, La., Trosclair posted two double-digit hit streaks on the year and also led the squad in multi-hit efforts and multi-RBI games. His .635 slugging percentage ranks 28th in the nation, while he is ranked 11th in home runs.
