LAFAYETTE, La. – Sophomore shortstop Blake Trahan was named the top prospect in the MINK League this summer, Perfect Game announced this weekend.
"It’s an honor for Blake to be named one of the top prospects this summer," head coach Tony Robichaux said. "Playing summer ball is tough and for him to perform like he did after a full collegiate season is a testament to how good of a player he is. I’m proud of the way he has represented Ragin’ Cajuns baseball this summer and look forward to getting him back on the field this fall."
Trahan hit .315 this summer with the Clarinda A’s while driving in 31 runs on 51 hits including seven doubles, two triples and two homeruns. He also swiped 17 bags and scored 39 runs in 41 games.
A native of Kinder, La., Trahan helped guide the A’s to the MINK League Championship and an appearance in the NBC World Series.
