LAFAYETTE, La. – M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field, home of the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns baseball program, was tabbed one of the top ballparks in the nation as The "Tigue" was ranked 18th in a recent D1Baseball.com ranking, the publication announced late last month.

"We are very proud of this recognition," head coach Tony Robhicaux said. "We are also very proud of the company that we share of great stadiums, conferences and universities. Our coaches, players, University, the city of Lafayette, the Acadiana area and our Ragin’ Cajuns fan base have created an atmosphere that is very unique. We believe with our current facility upgrade, we will have one of the best baseball stadiums in the country."

The poll was conducted with NCAA Division I baseball full-time coaches and sports information directors and rated stadiums based on traditions, amenities, setting, atmosphere, food and intimidation factor.

Along with being rated 18th overall, M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field was ranked top 10 in the nation in Best Ball Park Food (5th), Best Ballpark Traditions (6th), Most Intimidation Venue For Opponents (7th) and Best Family Atmosphere (10th). The Tigue was also named the best ballpark in the Sun Belt Conference.

M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field is currently undergoing a $16 million renovation that will include a new grandstand, club level, luxury suites and press box.
