Baseball: Robichaux On Two-Way Player Watch List
Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns senior Justin Robichaux has been named to the John Olerud Two-Way Player Award watch list as announced by College Baseball Foundation. The watch list is composed of 25 collegiate baseball players from across the country. Robichaux and Middle Tennessee senior Justin Guidry are the only two players from the Sun Belt on the watch list. Robichaux currently starts at first base for Louisiana and is one of the squad’s run producers in two-out situations. He has also seen time as a starting pitcher and relief pitcher. Robichaux is hitting .277 in 28 appearances at first base. He is fielding .996 with only one error committed in 240 chances helping solidify the Cajuns infield defense. He is 2-1 on the mound with a 3.55 ERA in 25 1/3 innings pitched. The "Ole" Award was created in 2010 and recognizes a player who makes an impact both on the mound and at the plate. John Olerud was a two-way player at Washington State who received Freshman All-America and All-America honors as both a first baseman and pitcher. Olerud was also named the Baseball America College Player of the Year. The John Olerud Award will be presented on July 2 in Lubbock, Texas as part of the College Baseball Awards Show.
