Ragin’ Cajuns freshman pitcher Nick Lee has been named a Freshman All-American by Louisville Slugger/Collegiate Baseball.

The 6-foot-5-inch Lee posted a 7-1 record during the season with a 3.31 ERA.  The right-hander allowed just 69 hits in 87 innings of work, holding opponents to a .219 batting average.  He struck out 75 batters. He was credited with seven quality starts on the season.

It’s the latest recognition for the Longville native, who was also named the Sun Belt Conference Freshman of the Year. He is the third Cajuns player in program history to be named the Sun Belt Freshman of the Year joining Blake Trahan (2013) and Gunner Leger (2015).

Lee ranked seventh in the Sun Belt in opponents average, fifth in wins, and seventh in strikeouts.
