Baseball: Moore Named To Google Cloud Academic All-District® Team

Jeff Schneider, Associate Director of Athletics Communications

LAFAYETTE, La. – For the third year in a row, Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns baseball senior Dylan Moore has been tabbed to the Google Cloud Academic All-District® Baseball Teams as he was named to the District 6 Team, the College Sports Information Directors Association (CoSIDA) announced on Thursday. The teams recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.

"It’s always an honor and a privilege to be recognized for your hard work and effort," head coach Tony Robichaux said. "I like the fact that this award honors a student-athlete for the performance in the classroom as well as their performance on the field. We call them student-athletes for a reason. Since Dylan joined our program in 2014, he has not let his athletic mission undermine his academic mission. It takes a special kind of athlete to achieve all that he has in a career. To perform on a high level both on the field and in the classroom like D-Mo does takes a lot of hard work and effort."

Moore was named to the CoSIDA District 6 Academic All-District™ First Team as a pitcher. The Hughes Springs, Texas native has excelled in the classroom posting a 4.00 GPA in Political Science with an emphasis in pre-law and has been accepted to Law School at the University of Texas. Moore has been named to the President’s List seven times and to the Sun Belt Conference Commissioners List three times.

This season, Moore has posted a 3-3 record with a 4.37 ERA in 15 appearances for Louisiana. The right-hander has 20 strikeouts in 22.2 innings pitched and holds both the program and Sun Belt career saves record with 38 in over three seasons.

The Academic All-District™ teams are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. District 6 is comprised of universities from the states of Arkansas, Iowa, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin.

First-team Academic All-District™ honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
