Hunter Moody, Buddy Glass and Devery Van De Keere all earned all-conference
honors

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.-The Sun Belt Conference announced the 2006 All-Sun Belt
Conference team on Tuesday, May, 23 at their annual baseball banquet and
three of Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns were named to the team.

Starting pitcher Hunter Moody was named co-Pitcher of the Year with P.J.
Walters of South Alabama.

Moody also earned first team all-conference honors, while fellow starting
pitcher Buddy Glass was named to the second team.

Devery Van De Keere was the only position player named to the all-conference
team from UL. The junior was named to the second team as a utility player.

Moody was a Roger Clemens Award Nominee for Pitcher of the Year. He Ranks
second on the Cajuns pitching staff that ranks eighth in the NCAA with a 2.17
earned run average. His ERA was ranked 31st in the nation as of May, 14. He
currently ranks second in the Sun Belt in ERA. Moody has 11 wins on the
season which ranks in the top-10 in the NCAA. The southpaw has a perfect 7-0
record in conference with a 3.02 ERA. Moody’s conference ERA ranks fourth
overall, but first amongst everyday starting pitchers. Opponents are batting
just .226 against him. He leads the Ragin’ Cajuns pitching staff with 108.0
innings pitched serving as the Friday night starter. He has 83 strikeouts
with just 26 walks. The sophomore has allowed just 32 runs – 26 earned runs –
in 14 games. In conference games only, he has allowed just 21 runs in eight
starts. Moody has allowed 90 hits, but just 22 extra base hits. He has five
complete games, including three in Sun Belt play. He has won SBC Pitcher of
the Week honors twice this season.

Glass was also a nominee for the Roger Clemens Award for Pitcher of the
Year. He ranks first on the Cajuns pitching staff that ranks eighth in the
NCAA with a 1.95 earned run average. As of May 14, his ERA was ranked 26th
in the nation. The sophomore currently ranks first in the Sun Belt in ERA.
Glass has eight wins on the season, which ties him for second on the UL
pitching staff with Jason Fernandez. Glass’ conference ERA ranks fifth
overall, but second amongst everyday starting pitchers. Opponents are
batting just .208 against him. The hurler is behind only Moody with 101.2
innings pitched. The hurler has 81 strikeouts with just 18 walks. He has
allowed just 26 runs – 22 earned runs overall this season, and, in conference
games only, he has allowed 20 runs in eight starts. Glass has allowed 76
hits, but just 18 extra base hits. Like Moody, he has five complete games
including three in the Belt. He has been recognized as Sun Belt Conference
Pitcher of the Week once this season.

Van De Keere leads the Cajuns with a .382 batting average and a .409 Sun Belt
Conference average. His average ranks him eighth in the Belt, while his
conference average ranks sixth. Van De Keere’s batting average ranked 33rd
in the NCAA as of May 14. He has a .600 slugging percentage to lead all
Cajuns. The slugger has eight homeruns, three triples and six doubles on the
season. In conference games only, he has a .614 slugging percentage with
five homeruns, a triple and a double. The Canada native has driven in 38 run
on the season. He ranks in the top five in nine statistical categories for
the Cajuns (batting average, slugging percentage, on base percentage, hits,
RBI, triples, homeruns, total bases, sacrifice flies). Van De Keere has had
21 multiple hit games including a team high 12 in SBC play with 10 multiple
RBI games – six in conference games. He has made starts at third base, first
base, designated hitter and outfield.

The Cajuns earned the No. 2 in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament in Bowling
Green, Ky. The Ragin’ Cajuns will open the tournament at 12:30 p.m. on
Wednesday, May 24 against No. 7 Arkansas State. In the regular season, UL
swept the Indians in Lafayette.
