Baseball: Marks and Leger Add To All-American HonorsLAFAYETTE, La. – Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns baseball juniors Wyatt Marks and Gunner Leger added to their 2017 All-American honors as the pair picked up a number of recognitions in the last two days. "Extremely proud an honored that both Wyatt and Gunner were recognized for their hard work and effort," head coach Tony Robichaux said. "To be associated with the players on these All-American teams is a tremendous honor for them. I know they are both proud to bring national recognition to the program and University. What Gunner and Wyatt have been able to achieve this season truly was something special." Both Marks and Leger were named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) All-American Teams on Wednesday with Marks earning second team honors and Leger tabbed to the third team. The duo also was selected to the Perfect Game All-American teams on Tuesday as Leger was named a third team selection, while Marks received honorable mention honors. Marks also picked up All-American honors from D1Baseball being selected to the second team. The pair had already received All-American recognition earlier this month as Leger was tabbed a Collegiate Baseball third team All-American while Marks was chosen to the Baseball America All-American first team. With four All-American honors this season, Marks joins Stefan Trosclair (2015), Jace Conrad (2014), Caleb Adams (2014) and Phil Devey (1999) on the list of Ragin’ Cajuns players to earn four-plus All-American recognitions in one season. Leger finished the season with a 10-2 record in 15 starts with a 1.97 ERA and 84 strikeouts, while Marks notched seven saves with a 2-1 record in 30 appearances posting a 2.28 ERA in 59.1 innings pitched with 100 strikeouts.
