Baseball: Louisiana’s Josh Logan Tabbed LSWA Hitter of the Week TuesdayJosh Logan becomes the second Cajun this season to earn LSWA weekly honors, joining two-time honoree Hunter Moody BATON ROUGE – Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns senior centerfielder Josh Logan (Magee, Miss.) earned his first career player of the week nod as he was named the Louisiana Sportswriters Association Hitter of the Week Tuesday. Logan becomes the second Cajun this season to earn LSWA weekly honors, joining two-time pitching honoree Hunter Moody (Clinton, La.). During Louisiana’s 3-1 week, Logan batted .625 (10-for-16) with six extra-base hits, including his first two career home runs along with eight RBI. He also accumulated 21 total bases, while posting a 1.313 slugging percentage. Logan was a perfect 4-for-4 in stolen bases and did not commit an error in the field. Eight of Logan’s 10 hits came in a sweep of UALR last weekend. Both of his home runs last weekend came in the lead-off spot with his first to lead off Saturday’s 7-6 win at UALR. His second home run jump-started Louisiana’s five-run eighth inning that eventually clinched the Cajuns’ series sweep of UALR Sunday. Logan, who now leads the team with a .317 average, has raised his batting average 104 points since last Wednesday. The team leader with seven stolen bases, Logan has posted two or more hits in six of the Cajuns’ last eight games. -www.RaginCajuns.com-
