After netting a team-high nine RBI and playing key roles in two of the Cajuns three wins last week, Chad Keefer collected honors from the Louisiana Sports Writers Association and CollegeBaseball360.com.

CB360 named Keefer to its Week 13 Primetime Performers Honor Roll and the LSWA named him Hitter of the Week.

Keefer, a senior from Sasakwa, Okla., hit .375 (6-for-16) with a home run and nine RBI in four games last week for the Ragin’ Cajuns that concluded with a Sun Belt series win over Western Kentucky.

Keefer drove in four runs in a mid-week contest at Southern, including a bases-loaded single in the sixth inning that snapped a 4-4 tie.

Against WKU on Saturday, Keefer launched a grand slam in the sixth inning that helped the Cajuns erase a 5-4 deficit. The team leader in home runs (12) and RBI (50), Keefer finished the game 3-for-5 with a career-high five RBI.

Keefer and the Ragin’ Cajuns are in Monroe for a Thursday-Saturday series with La.-Monroe at Warhawk Field. Louisiana has a chance to claim the Sun Belt Conference regular season championship. Game time each day is 6 p.m.
