Baseball: Clement And Moore Garner LSWA All-Louisiana Honors

LAFAYETTE, La. – Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns baseball outfielder Kyle Clement and pitcher Dylan Moore were named to the 2016 Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA) All-Louisiana Team, the organization announced this past weekend.

"When you have two guys recognized as much as Dylan and Kyle have been, it speaks to the kind of season that they had," head coach Tony Robichaux said. "It also means a lot that the people that recognized them are from the state. There was a lot of good baseball played in the state this year, and to be named with the other guys on the list is an honor. Both of these guys put in the hard work and effort to achieve what they did, and this is just baseball paying them back for their hard work and effort."

Moore and Clement were both named to the LSWA All-Louisiana First Team. Clement is making his second straight appearance on the All-Louisiana Teams after garnering second team honors a year ago.

Louisiana has had at least one person recognized on the list in each of the last 14 years, and has seen at least one player receive All-Louisiana honors in all but one season under Robichaux since taking over in 1995.

An All-Sun Belt First Team selection, Clement hit .353 with 14 doubles, two triples, four home runs and 25 RBI. Clement scored 33 runs while swiping nine bags with a .516 slugging percentage and a .415 on base percentage.

Moore finished the year with a 6-1 record and a school single season record 14 saves. The right-hander notched a 0.91 ERA in 49.2 innings while striking out 59 and limiting opponents to a .147 average.
