Baseball: Cajuns Land Three On ABCA All-Region Teams

LAFAYETTE, La. – The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns baseball team landed three players on the 2016 ABCA South-Central All-Region Teams, the American Baseball Coaches Association announced on Wednesday. The Cajuns have had at least three members of the squad represented on the team in each of the last four seasons.

Kyle Clement, Gunner Leger and Dylan Moore were each named to the South-Central All-Region Second Team. The trio each made an appearance on the All-Sun Belt First Team this season.
 
"This is yet another great honor for our program and University," head coach Tony Robichaux said. "All three of these guys have worked hard to get where they are at. This is another example of the game paying you back for your hard work and effort. I know that all of them would say that they wouldn’t have had the success that they had without the efforts of the other guys on the team to push them and make them better. I’m really glad for those three to be honored for what they have been able to accomplish this season."
 
All three players were tabbed to the South-Central All-Region Teams a year ago with Leger earning first team honors, while Clement and Moore received second team honors.
 
The Cajuns have had 49 players named to the ABCA South-Central All-Region teams since Robichaux took the helm in 1995.
 
The ABCA South-Central Region is made up of teams from the Sun Belt Conference, American Athletic Conference, Conference USA, Southland Conference and SWAC. The teams are voted on by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Div. I All-America Committee.
