Two Louisiana Congressmen — one from Lafayette, the other from Baton Rouge — have a friendly wager going over this weekend’s UL versus LSU baseball series.

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns and the LSU Tigers face off in the Super Regionals of college baseball starting Saturday in Baton Rouge. The winner of the best two out of three series heads to the College World Series.

Congressman Charles Boustany of Lafayette threw down the gauntlet Wednesday on Capitol Hill, challenging his colleague, Congressman Garret Graves of Baton Rouge.

The loser has to pay the winner in locally-brewed beer. Boustany bet some Canebrake beer from Parish Brewing in Broussard. Graves has a batch of LA 6 beer from Tin Roof Brewing of Baton Rouge on the line.

Let the trash talk begin!
