Athletics: Ragin’ Cajuns Appoint Parish Representatives Throughout Acadiana

Partnership with One Acadiana will connect Department of Athletics staff members throughout region

LAFAYETTE – Louisiana Athletics has set in motion grassroots plans to connect locally throughout the Acadiana region, working with the nine parish partners of One Acadiana, the economic development organization serving South Louisiana. With members of the Ragin’ Cajuns’ staff serving as representatives, local parishes will receive a personal touch in keeping up with the Vermilion & White.

The representatives from Louisiana Athletics will provide primary support and customer service to area supporters of the Ragin’ Cajuns, including fostering relationships with constituents and stakeholders.

"The Acadiana community means so much to Louisiana Athletics, as the people, their businesses and their organizations are what provide so much support to our sport programs," Director of Athletics Bryan Maggard said. "Connecting with nine area parishes through this partnership with One Acadiana is an extremely important step in uniting the entire state of Louisiana with the Ragin’ Cajuns."

Engaging local businesses and community leaders will be a focal point of the program, as parish representatives will work to engage more organizations in Louisiana’s Rally Program. Membership in the program includes benefits such as: tickets to select Ragin’ Cajun Athletics events, team posters, schedule cards, yard signs, window decals and more.

"We’re thrilled to partner with Louisiana Athletics representatives as we connect with business community members in each of our nine parishes in the One Acadiana region," said Troy Wayman, President & CEO of One Acadiana. "We know that being ‘regional’ means getting out, getting to know the faces in each of Acadiana’s unique communities, and being a part of their community conversations. We are excited to bring Ragin’ Cajun spirit along with us as we travel the region."

Representatives will pair frequent communication with regular visits to their assigned parishes, bringing the Ragin’ Cajuns to the doorsteps of many throughout Acadiana. Representatives will also assist in the coordination of coaches caravans and other Louisiana Athletics-related events.
