LAFAYETTE – Louisiana’s Athletic Performance department has welcomed the addition of Nicholas Capdepon in the role of Athletic Performance Assistant for Basketball, as well as made three staff promotions, as announced by Assistant Director of Athletics for Athletic Performance Candice Walls on Thursday.

Working in the role of Director of Athletic Performance for Olympic Sports will be Connor Stanton, who joined the Ragin’ Cajuns in 2017 as Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. Stanton previously served in athletic performance coaching roles at Baylor, Valdosta State and his alma mater, Luther College (Decorah, Iowa). Stanton competed in baseball for the Norse during his undergraduate career.

Continuing with the Ragin’ Cajuns as Director of Athletic Performance for Basketball is Jonathon Uribe. A native of Houston, Texas, Uribe has coached previously as Southern Miss, Florida and Arizona. Uribe played basketball at Texas-Permian Basin from 2012-14.

James Lang will now serve in the role of Assistant Director of Athletic Performance for Olympic Sports. In his fourth season with the Ragin’ Cajuns, Lang has primarily worked with Louisiana’s baseball program during his tenure. Previously, Lang spent seven years as head strength and conditioning coach at his alma mater, Alma (Mich.) College, where he also played football as a student athlete.

Capdepon returned to his alma mater this month after previously working at Louisiana State and assisting in athletic performance coaching with the Tigers’ men’s and women’s basketball programs. A native of Lafayette, Capdepon graduated with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from the University in 2018.
