Marion Lartigue “Tigue” Moore, for whom the University of Louisiana at Lafayette baseball field is named, shown here in 1946, was known as the founding father of Acadiana baseball. Moore, who also gave his name to Moore Park, worked for the city parks operation for years and was the full-time volunteer executive director of the UL Foundation for 12 years. Moore may be best remembered for his work with American Legion baseball in Acadiana
