256th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (Lafayette) Sends Best Wishes to the Cajuns From Baghdad

Email from LTC Friloux sent to Ken Ardoin (and Shelley Landry sent to the Athletic Network).

Attached is a picture of ULL alumni, students, and fans of Headquarters,

256th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Lafayette, LA, in Baghdad, Iraq on

October 13th, 2010.  We will not be able to attend Homecoming 2010, but we

wanted to show our support from thousands of miles away!  Please let the

team know we are pulling for them and have our fingers crossed for a trip to

the New Orleans Bowl or the GMAC Bowl!  We will redeploy by Christmas and a

post-season game would be icing on the cake!

You and I talked at the Lafayette Armory just prior to us shipping out on

January 5th, 2010.  The flag in the picture was presented to MG Bennett

Landreneau and me for the Louisiana National Guard on Cajun Field by Dr.

Savoie during Military Appreciation Night in 2008.  It will deploy with

HHC/256 IBCT on every State and Federal mission we are assigned.

I would like to again thank you and the University for the support given to

our Soldiers.

The above referenced picture and caption are posted below compliments of SGT Shelley Landry.
