My name is Mary Arnie, I was an instructor in the Physical Education Department during the 1994-95 school year.  It was one of the most enjoyable teaching years I have had as a teacher.

My teaching duties consisted of teaching activity classes, such as tennis, volleyball, and weight training.  I also had the opportunity to teach a Physical Education methods class.  In teaching these classes, I came in contact with many different students.

Two of these students have been etched in my mind through the years, and I often wonder what they are doing today.  These students brought many challenges to me during the year, and I hope I brought challenges to them.  Both of these students were handicapped.  One was blind and had to be guided by a seeing-eye dog.  The other was deaf and had to have an interpreter.

These two students did everything required of them and more.  They were an inspiration to me and to other students.  Whenever I have obstacles in my life that seem overwhelming, I think of these two students and nothing seems impossible.
