The Ragin’ Cajuns are nationally ranked again.

UL moved back into the Associated Press poll following Saturday’s 27-20 win over Arkansas State, appearing at No. 25 in the latest rankings Sunday.

The Cajuns had been No. 21 in both the Amway Coaches Poll and the AP Top 25 before losing on Oct. 14 to now-No. 17 Coastal Carolina.

That is the only loss of the season for UL (6-1, 4-1 Sun Belt).

The Cajuns also moved up from fourth to second Sunday among others receiving votes in the Amway poll.

Cajuns football:Halftime adjustments helped UL overcome sleepy start, shaky play-calling

UL had been ranked during three different weeks earlier this season and had been as high as No. 19.

This year marks the first time the program has been nationally ranked since 1943.

UL moved back into the AP poll after Michigan and Boise State both dropped out. The Wolverines lost Saturday to Indiana and the Broncos lost Friday night to BYU

North Carolina (174 points) is ahead of UL (81) among others receiving votes in the Amway poll, which has Army (6-1) ranked 25th.

Coach Billy Napier’s Cajuns put their AP ranking on the line when South Alabama (3-4, 2-2 Sun Belt) visits Cajun Field on Saturday (1 p.m., ESPN?) for the second outing in a three-game UL homestand.
