Columbia, MO – Three Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns competed over the weekend at the NCAA Mideast Track & Field Regional and one came away with a new school record. Sophomore Kayla Vice set a new Cajuns record in the women’s pole vault with a mark of 12-00.00. The record vault eclipsed the old mark of 11-11.75, which was set by Andree Bonvillain on April 22, 2006 and later tied by Vice this season when the Lafayette native won the Sun Belt Conference Championship on May 12. Vice’s record was not enough to advance, as she was one of four competitors that failed to clear the next height.
Also competing for the Cajuns was freshmen Justin Arceneaux in the 100-meters and Stacey Fuller in the 400-meters. Both failed to make the finals of their respective events.
