BROUSSARD, La. – One hundred twenty golfers enjoyed perfect playing conditions during the annual Ragin’ Cajuns Softball Golf Tournament on Monday, July 23rd, at LeTriomphe Golf & Country Club.
All signs point to the fundraising event being a tremendous success. The coaches and players thank everyone for their continued support of UL softball.  All proceeds from the tournament go
directly to help the softball team chase its dream of getting to returning to the Women’s College World Series in Oklahoma City, Okla.

Pitching in to make the tournament a great fun-filled success were: the committee which organized the event, the many sponsors, the golfers, UL softball coaches and players, family, friends, LeTriomphe staff and the many Ragin’ Cajuns softball supporters who served as volunteers.
Turbo Chem International served as one of the title sponsors, along with Courtesy Motors which gave the golfers three changes to win three separate vehicles by making a hole-in-one. Although none of the golfers participating in the tournament took home one of the vehicles, the opportunity to win the vehicles certainly added to the excitement and the competition of the day.
On the 11th hole, golfers were provided with an opportunity to win a leather recliner which was donated by Home Furniture.
All of the day’s participants were treated to plenty of food and drinks throughout the day as Turbo Chem International, Iberia Bank and Offshore Cleaning Systems provided all the food on the golf course. Beverages were donated by Acadiana Bottling and Schilling Distributing. And, because of these fine sponsors, none of the course participants left LeTriomphe hungry or thirsty.
Edie’s Restaurant provided the many volunteers who were present to work the tournament with breakfast as they were preparing everything before the golfers arrived.
Knight Oil Tools donated the very nice ditty bags that were filled with items from SystemForward America and Pop-A-Lock, a golf hat provided by The Game, beef jerky compliments of Turbo Chem International as well as other items provided by the City of Lafayette Tourism Commission. All these were capped off by a sleeve of Ragin’ Cajuns Softball golf balls.
Special thanks go to Jolley’s Signs and Golfballs.com for their help with the hole sponsor signs and golf ball.
The Superior Energy-sponsored team of former Ragin’ Cajuns golfer Jonathan Reaux, along with teammates Dale Clark, Jourdan Raache and Dave Kelly claimed the first-place prize with a score of 52.

Second place went to the Mobile, Ala.-based, HM Companies team of Steve Harrelson, Alan Sanders, Joe Miskin and Jim Fatheree as they shot a 53.
The Turbo Chem International team of Artie Boudreaux, former New Orleans Saints wide receiver Eric Martin, former UL quarterback Donnie Wallace and Mike Stanley, who played on the PGA Tour for 10 years, scored a 54, which was good enough for third place.
UL softball players and coaching staff would like to thank the committee which organized the tournament, all of the volunteers, the sponsors, hole sponsors, the participants and the great staff at LeTriomphe Golf & Country Club for making the annual golf tournament a resounding success.
A special thank you goes to Rose Marie Hagle and Robert Harris for their tireless efforts in the time leading up to the tournament.
