Louisiana senior left-handed pitcher Hunter Moody was named to the All-Sun Belt First Team Tuesday.

LAFAYETTE – Louisiana senior left-handed pitcher Hunter Moody (Clinton, La.) was named to the All-Sun Belt First Team Tuesday evening at the league’s first annual Sun Belt Conference Baseball Championship Family Night at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field.

Moody, the 2006 Sun Belt Conference Pitcher of the Year, earned his third All-Sun Belt honor of his storied career. His recognition marks the fourth straight season that a Cajun pitcher has been named to the league’s first team and the ninth time under head coach Tony Robichaux. The Cajuns have been represented on the All-Sun Belt team in each of the program’s 17 seasons in the league.

The senior finishes his career as the school’s winningest pitcher with a 30-7 all-time record – an impressive .818 winning percentage. Moody leads the squad with an 8-2 overall record and a 3.49 ERA. He is one of only four pitchers in Sun Belt Conference history to win 30 games and will finish his illustrious career ranked in the top five of four major pitching categories at UL – wins, strikeouts, innings pitched and games started.

In the second game of the 2008 season, the Roger Clemens Award nominee combined to throw the first combined one-hit shutout for the Cajuns since Feb. 22, 1984. He tossed two combined shutouts to open his senior season and has been named the Sun Belt Pitcher of the Week three times this season – the most in school history. Earlier this season, he became the first pitcher in school history to be named SBC Pitcher of the Week in successive weeks.

Moody and the sixth-seeded Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns (28-27) will host the third-seeded Troy Trojans (32-24) in the first round of the Sun Belt Conference Baseball Championship Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
