HAMMOND, La. – The awards keep rolling in for senior forward Callie Oliver. On Friday, December 12, she was named to the 2008 Louisiana Sports Writers Association All-Louisiana Women’s Soccer Collegiate Team by the LSWA. Teammate and fellow senior Taunya Geelhoed received All-Louisiana Honorable Mention.

Oliver is the most prolific scorer in the history of UL soccer. She is also very productive in the classroom as well; she has earned a spot on the Sun Belt Conference Academic Honor Roll in 2006, 2007 and 2008.

Callie finished her career with 15 goals and seven assists, which added up to 37 points. Her 37 points put her at the top of the UL record charts in regards to total points. Oliver had been a part of the UL program for four years, in her time at UL; the team has set numerous records. Her offensive prowess has helped the team to 26 victories over the last four years. She was a member of the UL team in 2007 that set a record for school victories.

Oliver saved her best for senior night. She lit up the scoreboard with three goals against in-state rival ULM. It was the first time in school history that a player earned a hat trick. The Cajuns scored five goals against ULM the most goals scored against a Sun Belt opponent in school history.

2008 Statistics: 7 goals, 14 points, 2 match-winning goals

This is the first time that Oliver has been named to the All-Louisiana team.

Taunya, a fifth year senior is named All-Louisiana for the second time. She was named to the team in 2006 as well.

With a key injury on defense before the season started, Taunya was the staple in the Cajuns defense. Geelhoed came back for a fifth year after suffering a season ending injury just three games into the 2007 season.

She helped the team hold opponents to 1.68 goals-against-average. They gave up 33 goals which ranks fifth for least goals allowed in a season as well as 1.74 GAA which ranks fourth all-time.

2008 Statistics: 1 assist, 17 games started

In her career Taunya had seven goals and three assists. Three of her seven goals were match winners.
