With three wins under her belt this past week, Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns Brittany Cuevas has been tabbed the Sun Belt Conference Pitcher of the Week.

In 19.0 innings pitched, Cuevas struck out 19 batters and allowed just two runs for an ERA of 0.74 for the week. The three wins boosted the senior to a 14-6 overall record this season.

Her impressive week started on Wednesday against McNeese. Cuevas fanned nine batters and kept the Cowgirls off the scoreboard for six innings en route to an 11-1 win. She allowed just four hits on the evening.

On Saturday against South Alabama, the senior hurler a two-hit shutout as the Cajuns captured a 9-0, run-rule victory.

In the series finale against the Jaguars, Cuevas continued to hold the opposition scoreless through 6.2 innings. She struck out eight in the 2-1 victory.

It was the first weekly honor this season for Cuevas and fifth of her career.

Cuevas and the Cajuns will return to action Wednesday evening with the start of a three-game series against Florida Atlantic. First pitch of Wednesday’s doubleheader is scheduled for 5 p.m. CT.
